Meet Juliemar Medina, recipient of our 2nd Scholarship for the University of Utah. Juliemar is studying Environmental Studies and “dream of making the world a more environmentally friendly place through urban planning.”

What interested you in your program? 

I am interested in relieving social injustice issues through environmentally driven solutions. I feel the best way to impact a community for the better is to provide them with a healthy environment free of hazards such. I feel as if the Environmental and Sustainability studies department provides their students with the tools to alleviate these issues in a real-world setting.

How will receiving this scholarship benefit you?

This scholarship will be the reason I will not have to take out any student loans and accumulate more debt during my junior year.

Tell us about yourself.

love seeking new ways to live towards a zero-waste lifestyle. I love second hand shopping and finding unique clothing or home decor items. When I am not working you can probably find me outside at the park or up in the mountains enjoying the view.
